It's late, so I should probably stop trying to teach myself Hindi and go to bed

adventures in cooking: eggplant edition

It's not a faux pas to do more than one post in a day right?
I amwriting blogging (oooh you like that fancy slash through huh? yeah, that's remenants from my Xanga days) about my very recent exploration in the kitchen. This was inspired after today's trip to the farmer's market, where I obtained an eggplant. I decided to make an eggplant sandwich, because I'm not very creative. This is how I did it > > >
I am
Now if I'm being completely honest, it was mediocre. I wasn't aware at the time that eggplant has literally no flavor. I would suggest seasoning it if you try this. It was kind of mushy (probably because I cooked it in a pan for a while and then decided to bust out the George Foreman). The basil was a nice touch. I was going to get creative and make some sort of dressing with sour cream and lemon juice, but I decided that was too risky.
After some research, I discovered the eggplant is a close relative to tobacco and has more nicotine than any other edible plant, which may explain why I'm already addicted to it. According to Wikipedia, it "develops a rich, complex flavor" when cooked... riiiight. Anyway, after I discovered that it absorbs free radicals in the body, I went on a spree of organic chemistry research I won't bore you with the details of. Needless to say, eggplant is my new delightful yet bland friend.
Stay real.
^another cliche blog sign off for you
what a splendid way to spend a summer
... and capturing it on a BLOG!
I figured that since I spend about 65% of my awake hours on the computer, why not spend some of that time writing what will hopefully become the best blog in existance? Now you're probably all thinking, "But Amie, remember that time first year when you didn't want to study for chem so you randomly made a blog that you never updated after that night?" The answer is that this time will be different! This time I have nothing better to do with my life!
So, welcome to my blog. This whole blog process is kind of awkward, you know? I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be talking to myself and y'all are just casually listening in, or if I'm supposed to address you? All two of you?!
I don't want to risk being labelled too emo or anything, so I'm just going to go ahead and clarify the "title" of this blog, which is subject to change at any time. It's a line from the Regina Spektor song "Genius Next Door," and I was inspired to bestow that name on this blog because I've been listening to her nonstop in my attempts to be cool and artsy.
Peace.
